OSPFv2 Multi Area Lab

OSPF Lab Topology

The diagram below will be used as the lab topology, which is the reference topology I use for all JNCIE-SP labs.

For this particular lab there will be two non-backbone areas (area 1 and 2) both dual-homed into four backbone routers.

This topology will provide enough connectivity to prove all of the functions that require testing and validating for JNCIE-SP.

Backbone Router Configuration

The example below shows how to configure OSPF interfaces into the backbone area. This should be the first steps that are taken when building an OSPFv2 multi-area domain.

protocols {
ospf {
area 0.0.0.0 {
interface ge-0/0/0.0;
interface ge-0/0/1.0;
interface lo0.0 {
passive;
}
}
}
}
